HISTORIC REPUBLIC DAY RIDE IN NAGALAND | 243 RIDERS UNITE FOR INDIAN SOLDIERS
DIMAPUR, Jan 26: Friends On Wheels Motorcycle Club Nagaland, in collaboration with 9 Assam Rifles, Jalukie, organised “Ride With Pride – Vol. V” on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, marking the day with patriotism, unity and youthful enthusiasm. The historic bike rally drew 237 riders, including women, making it one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the region.
Riders from various motorcycle clubs across Nagaland, Karbi Anglong and West Bengal participated in the rally, coming together under one banner. The rally reflected national pride, brotherhood and youth-driven energy, guided by the motto “Driven by Youth, Powered by Speed.”
The event was supported by Bharat Petroleum and Xude, and was graced by Brigadier Mayank Singh Janwal, DIG, HQ 6 Sector Assam Rifles, as the chief guest. Kamal Bilala Jain, Nagaland State Treasurer, BJP, and Brand Ambassador of Friends On Wheels Motorcycle Club, Nagaland, was also present on the occasion.
The dignitaries were welcomed by Abhijeet Bharadwaj, President of Friends On Wheels Motorcycle Club Nagaland, and felicitated by M Raja Paul and members of Friends On Wheels. The rally was flagged off at 7:20 am by Brigadier Mayank Singh Janwal.
The rally started from City Tower, Dimapur, and concluded at 9 Assam Rifles, Jalukie, where Assam Rifles jawans, NCC cadets and local citizens received the riders. The programme included unfurling of the National Flag, followed by an address by Col Mohit Bansal of 9 Assam Rifles. A patriotic band performance further added to the spirit of the celebration.
Several activities such as tug of war, slow bike race, traditional games and the fittest rider competition were organised to promote camaraderie and participation. Winners were awarded prizes.
The Ride With Pride – Vol. V rally not only commemorated Republic Day but also strengthened the bond between civilians, youth and the Indian Armed Forces, reinforcing the values of unity, discipline and patriotism. (DIPR)
