PM Vishwakarma Workshop at Tuensang

TUENSANG, Feb 11: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, through the MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce and the District Industries Centre (DIC), Tuensang, organised a one-day awareness workshop under the PM Vishwakarma scheme on February 11, 2026, at the DRDA Conference Hall, Tuensang.

Inspector, DIC Tuensang, Thungdi Chang, briefed the artisans on various credit schemes under the Ministry of MSME and the State Government. He urged them to utilise the information and seek assistance through DIC Tuensang for institutional support. He highlighted that PM Vishwakarma is a Central Sector Scheme aimed at recognising, reorganising and empowering traditional artisans and craftsmen across the country, collectively referred to as Vishwakarma.

The scheme seeks to support those engaged in 18 traditional trades such as carpentry, basket weaving and blacksmithing, which are deeply rooted in India’s cultural and occupational heritage.

The welcome address was delivered by Khumchopi Sangtam, Functional Manager, DIC Tuensang. The programme also featured an interactive session led by Auchingsonla, Area Coordinator, NSRLM, while Tovito, Field Officer, SBI Tuensang, presented on the loan component under PM Vishwakarma.
