CHUMOUKEDIMA, Jan 24: Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along called upon students to envision a developed India by 2047 and beyond.
In an event held at Chumoukedima, the Minister, who graced the 5th Convocation on January 24, 2024, expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements at the Nagaland Institute.
Expressing immense pride in the accomplishments of the students at the Nagaland Institute, Minister Along portrayed the graduating class as future forerunners and technical experts poised to champion development and empower both the nation and the Nagas.
Minister Along emphasized the transformative role of the students in shaping the destiny of India, urging them to consider their scholastic endeavors and acquired knowledge as tools for nation-building and empowering the people. He stressed the importance of intellectual contributions in steering the future of both the state and the nation.
Addressing the literacy challenges faced by the state, Minister Along underscored that literacy alone is insufficient unless it contributes to societal betterment. He encouraged the graduates to embark on a journey of vision and action, acknowledging the challenges but emphasizing that it is the right path to make a meaningful impact.
Reflecting on the collaboration between NIT and Polytechnics of Nagaland, Minister Along expressed hope that this partnership would elevate the Polytechnics into a center of excellence for technology.
The convocation program featured a welcome address and declaration by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, the presentation of the annual report by the Director of NIT, and the acknowledgment of candidates for various academic awards. Minister Along concluded the ceremony by dissolving the convocation, leaving the graduates inspired and motivated for their future endeavors.
