DISCUSSION ON STATE ENERGY FOR NAGALAND HELD

KOHIMA, Jun 6: The State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) for the state of Nagaland was discussed in a validation workshop held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima, Nagaland on Saturday. The workshop was attended by senior officials from stakeholder departments. Asangla Imiti, NCS, Commissioner & Secretary (Power) reviewed the Action Plan & expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Power, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, and the team for bringing out the much-needed Action Plan for the effective management of energy. She also sought support from the stakeholder departments to implement the suggested action plans.

The development of a state-specific action plan on energy efficiency has been initiated by the Ministry of Power and supported by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and the Department of Electrical Inspectorate, Government of Nagaland.

Nagaland is the second north-eastern state to have validated the State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP). The assignment for developing SEEAP has been executed by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP and GreenTree Global.

The action plan shall assist the state government departments and agencies to adopt the most sustainable, long-term, and inter-sectoral energy efficiency strategies.
