DISTRICT-LEVEL CONSULTATION FOR FORMULATING THE ‘SDG DISTRICT ROAD MAP’ HELD AT PEREN

KOHIMA, Aug 1: The Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre (SDGCC) of the Planning & Transformation Department, Government of Nagaland, organised a District-level Consultation for creating the “SDG District Roadmap” at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren on August 1, 2023, as another significant step towards localising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The District Planning Officer Peren, as well as Heads of Offices and members from the district departments, presided over the workshop under the direction of EAC Peren, Kevethito Rose.

On behalf of the Deputy Commissioner, the EAC extended a warm greeting to the representatives from the SDGCC, State Planning Department Kohima.

In Peren and Nagaland, he also emphasised the idea and significance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also emphasised the significance of precise data for sound planning and asked the heads of offices to gather accurate data for further submission.

The formulation of the “Peren District SDG Roadmap” in order to realise the Nagaland SDG Vision 2030 is the consultation’s main goal. The roadmap will be extensive and thorough and will represent the goals of the Peren district.

Abilo Humtsoe, an SDG Officer, led the first technical session of this consultation. She described the ‘SDG District Roadmap’ formulation process and methodology. In addition, Humtsoe presented the frameworks for monitoring and Peren’s performance in the “National Multidimensional Poverty Index 2023,” emphasising the metrics that need to be improved in Peren District and outlining the next steps. Peren’s success in the SDG district indicators was presented by Khriketou, M&E.

The second technical session included one-on-one department consultations for all involved departments to generate ideas and answer concerns about the “SDG District Roadmap” framework. (DPRO & Mamang, IA Peren)
