U-13 ASMITA Football League 2025–26 (East Zone) Concludes at Chümoukedima
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, Feb 11: The U-13 ASMITA Football League 2025–26 (Major League – East Zone) concluded on February 10, 2026, at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium, marking the successful completion of a grassroots football initiative under the ASMITA and Khelo India programmes.
The closing ceremony was graced by Anthony Ngullie, IAS, Secretary, Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, as the Special Guest. In his address, Ngullie emphasized the role of ASMITA under Khelo India in empowering young athletes, particularly girls, by providing structured and competitive platforms. He encouraged the participants to pursue sports with discipline, dedication and confidence, while reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots sports development.
The programme also featured Kick-off Match No. 10, followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the two qualified teams from the Major League – East Zone — Assam and Mizoram — were felicitated for their outstanding performance.
The event was chaired by Imlisunep, Joint Secretary, Nagaland Football Association (NFA). The invocation was delivered by Awa Lorin, Youth Pastor, Rengma Baptist Church, Sovima, while a special song was presented by Chemkula Khiungra.
