CHIEF MINISTER RIO VISITS TULI

KOHIMA, Mar 13: On March 12, 2025, Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio visited Tuli sub-division, Mokokchung district, to assess developmental projects and interact with local communities.

The Chief Minister’s itinerary commenced with his arrival at the Tzudikong Town helipad, followed by a visit to Wameken Village, where he inaugurated the newly constructed Wameken Village Council Hall (Panchayat Bhavan), marking an important step in strengthening local governance infrastructure. The visit also included a stop at the Sentimeren Memorial Watch Tower at Kangtsung Village.

Continuing the tour, the Chief Minister arrived at the Longnakba Lenden Tuli Railway Station, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving connectivity in the region. He later visited the ongoing Foothill Road construction site, emphasizing the importance of better road infrastructure for economic and social development.

Rio addressed the local populace, discussing government policies, ongoing projects, and plans for the region. In his speech, the Chief Minister emphasized the goal of Viksit Bharat@2047. He stressed the importance of aligning Nagaland’s growth with the national vision for a developed India by 2047, the 100th year of its independence. He called for collective efforts from the people to accelerate progress in all sectors.

The Chief Minister expressed his happiness over the active participation of the public in the construction of the Foothill Road, acknowledging their cooperation as a driving force behind the project. He assured that the government remains committed to improving connectivity and infrastructure in the region.

Regarding railway connectivity, he announced that the state government had engaged in discussions with the Ministry of Railways to upgrade services in the area. He assured that efforts would be made to extend the facility beyond goods transport to include passenger services, enhancing accessibility for the people.

A major highlight of his speech was the revival of the Tuli Paper Mill, a long-standing concern for the people of the region. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring its operations and mentioned ongoing coordination with 3ACSL Company to facilitate the mill’s revival, ensuring employment opportunities and industrial growth. Concluding his address, Dr. Rio placed strong emphasis on the dignity of labour, urging people to respect all forms of work and cultivate a self-reliant attitude.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister Rural Development and SIRD, Metsubo Jamir; Advisor Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, A. Pangjung Jamir; Advisor Geology & Mining, DUDA, W. Chingang Konyak; MLA, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe; and MLA, Benei M. Lamthiu. Also present were Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sentiwapang Aier, along with heads of departments and administrators from Mokokchung headquarters and Tuli Sub-Division. (DIPR)
