KOHIMA, Jan 26 (NEPS): Members of the Kohima Press Club (KPC) led by its Acting President Atul Sarma have today visited Children’s Home run by the Youth Mission here at Zogadzu Colony with rice, potatoes, sweets, biscuits and other eatable items. KPC’s visitation was a part of the 70th Indian Republic Day Celebration. The Club used to visit various Institutions in and around Kohima as part of the occasions like Indian Independence Day, Republic Day. In a simple function held here at the Conference Hall of the Youth Mission, Rev T Nyekha, Chief Administrator of the Mission, briefed the Members of the KPC about the history of the Mission, which has Counseling cum Rehabilitation Centre and the Children’s Home. He said the Youth Mission was, probably, one of the oldest NGOs established way back in 1987. He said the children staying there were from various backgrounds and further disclosed as to how they were also given spiritual services in order to bring them closer to God. “We are sending the children to various Government-run schools in and around Kohima,” he informed and expressed his happiness that they were doing well in their studies as well. He deeply appreciated the KPC Members for visiting their children. KPC Adviser Kops Krome, KPC ex-President, H Chichi, KPC Treasurer Solomon Sha and KPC senior Member Oken Jeet Sandham also spoke on the occasion. They lauded the Chief Administrator and Staffs of the Youth Mission for successfully running the Children’s Home with spiritual services. They expressed the hope that the children would be the gem of their society in future. Later, Rev Nyekha also took the Members of the KPC around and showed them the dining room, dormitories, kitchen, prayer hall, church of the Youth Mission.
