Artists’ Corner blends beauty of the Horbill Festival

KISAMA, Dec 2: The Department of Art & Culture in association with NEU Naga Art Foundation is being organised Artists’ Corner from 1st to 10th December 2018 coinciding with the ongoing Hornbill Festival at Kohima World War 11 Museum premises, Kisama.  The Exhibition cum Sale Artists’ Corner was inaugurated by Advisor, Art & Culture, Tourism, H.Khehovi on 1st December 2018. Officials from the department said the main purpose of setting up an Artists’ Corner at Kisama was to promote and encourage local artists in order to harness their creative potential. The Department organises this event as an annual event so as to facilitate upcoming artists’ thereby promoting professionalism in the field of art and culture. The paintings at artists’ corner features acrylic, sketch, water colour, sculpture, engraving on granite, charcoal, abstract art, landscape, portrait, etc. Altogether, 33 local artists from Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung contributed their paintings for sale as well as for exhibition. The painting competition for the school students’ will be held at Artists’ Corner on 3rd December 2018.
