KOHIMA, Jun 28 (NEPS): NSCN (K) has ambushed the Assam Rifles Convoy by exploding IED near Akhegwo under Nagaland’s Phek District bordering Myanmar on Thursday.
According to Col Isak Sumi, Deputy Kilonser, NSCN (K), the Naga Army have successfully ambushed the Assam Rifles Convoy by triggering the IED this afternoon at a place near Akhegwo under Phek District, killing four and injuring two seriously.
Indian Army was reported to have denied any casualties on their side but admitted that one jawan received serious injuries in the IED blast.
In the meantime, NSCN (K) also dismissed the Indian Army’s claimed that the latter attacked the former’s camp near the Indo-Myanmar border yesterday inflicting several causalities.
Col Isak Sumi, however, confirmed that the Indian Army came near the Indo-Myanmar border Pillar 151 yesterday and resorted to random shelling and blank firing towards their forward post located several miles away. He also said they retaliated and further disclosed that no casualties or injuries were there on their side.
