IMPHAL | Apr 8 (IFP): Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has today rounded up eight non-locals who entered the state without acquiring any proper documents.
They have also banned the two cruiser vehicles which bought the eight non-locals to the state and asked the authority of passenger transport service ‘North Eastern’ to surrender to JCILPS for giving tickets to non-locals who do not have proper documents.
Speaking to media persons today at their office at Keishampat, JCILPS student wing’s covenor, Manjit Sarangthem said the eight non-locals were coming from Jiribam side at two cruiser vehicles bearing registration no. AS11BC-5989 and AS11EE-4107 and they were caught from Waheng Leikai parking by the student wing.
He said giving prior opportunities to non-local for working in various government projects suggests that many indigenous people are encouraging non-local to enter the state which is same as standing against JCILPS.
On the other hand entering of non-locals without proper document in the state by passing may police out-post clearly shows the dirty works of the police department, added the convenor.
Recalling the incident of stealing Rs. 5 lakhs from Smart Medicos by a well organised gang of non-locals on March 30, he said JCIPLS feared that non-locals are slowly taking over the state day by day.
Regarding the incident Manjit said “it is very unfortunate that the state police are not able to make any arrest of the culprits till today.”
Soon JCILPS will start its drive at different localities with local clubs and Meira Paibi to check non-locals who are staying in the state without proper document, added the convenor.
