IMPHAL | Apr 8 (IFP): State bureaucrats who bring out best innovative ideas and suggestions for any development works will be awarded with medal and citation, announced chief minister, N. Biren Singh today.
He was addressing bureaucrats of the state today during an interaction programme with the officers of organised services of the state at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.
The chief minister said the real duty of a bureaucrat is not only checking and signing files but to bring out ideas and plans for the welfare and development of the society.
He appreciated the efforts and sincerity of all the officials of different departments for their help in making government’s first year successful.
The programme ‘Go to Village’ is a human oriented progamme where the government will directly visit the location and provide instant solution to the grievances and problem faced by the villagers, he added.
During the programme, all the beneficiaries’ schemes of different departments will be utilised to meet the needs of the needy villagers, continued Biren.
The chief minister said in order to rehabilitate the poppy plants which has been destroyed recently, the government has planned to supply Sandal wood siblings to the farmers under afforest programme of the forest department.
Planting of such trees will bring great revenue to the state as it can be harvested within eight years and without any revenue the state cannot compete with other states, he added.
Appreciating the Churchandpur’s DC and contractor who completed building the Ima Market before the recent Prime Minister’s visit to state, he announced that they will be awarded on April 21 (Civil Service Day).
He said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is very happy to witness that the state is progressing very fast and has the emotional integrity between hills and valley which was once apart.
Biren continued, “We do not need to wait for sanctioning of the central government fund, we need to find our own ways to take up necessaries welfare programme for the needy people as a government.”
All the MLA has decided to provide fund for building 20 houses each for the houseless people at their respective constituency and the fund for building houses for the remaining homeless people will be provided from the central schemes through DC level, said the chief minister.
Stating that bureaucrat officers of the state play a major role in making a better state he sought cooperation and sincerity in making the proposed ‘Go to the Village’ programme successful.
During the programme many officers has shared their grievances meet by them and other lower officials in performing their duties and also brought out many useful suggestions.
The programme was attended by other council of ministers, MLAs and 526 bureaucrat officers of the state.
