Re-Poll at 12 Polling Stations while fresh Poll for Ladeigarh Polling Station No 1 at an alternative temporary structure on March 2

KOHIMA, Mar 1 (NEPS): Re-poll at 12 Polling Stations in 6 Districts of Nagaland will be conducted on March 2, 2018. However, a fresh Poll for Ladeigarh Polling Station No 1 under 49 Tamlu Assembly Constituency in Longlen District will be conducted at an alternative temporary structure in a nearby location in accordance with the Commission’s instructions contained in Chapter – XIII of Handbook for Returning Officer.

This alternative temporary structure is arranged as the Assam Police did not allow the conduct of the polls at the designated Polling Station 1 at Ladeigarh. They have been claiming that the Polling Station falls under “disputed” areas. The Phom people dismissed the claim.

The Polling will from 7 AM and ends at 3 PM.


The other 12 Polling Stations where the re-Poll will be conducted are:

  1. Polling Station No. 15 – Village Council Hall, Samziuram ‘A’ Sector under 7 Peren Assembly Constituency,
  2. Polling Station No. 29 – AG Colony Upper – 1 under 9 Kohima Town Assembly Constituency,
  3. Polling Station No. 01 – Community Hall, Middle Khomi Village under 17 Chizami Assembly Constituency,
  4. Polling Station No. 10 – GPS, Mesulumi Village, A/Wing under 17 Chizami Assembly Constituency,
  5. Polling Station No. 09 – GPS, Metsalemi Village under 19 Phek Assembly Constituency,
  6. Polling Station No. 25 – Panchayat Hall, Phek Village B/Wing under 19 Phek Assembly Constituency,
  7. Polling Station No. 01 – GPS Building, Suthotsu Village under 20 Meluri Assembly Constituency,
  8. Polling Station No. 13 – GPS Building, Zangkham Village under 41 Tizit Assembly Constituency,
  9. Polling Station No. 3 – Chare ‘A’ under 52 Longkhim-Chare Assembly Constituency,
  10. Polling Station No. 09 – GMS, Tonglongsor under 52 Longkhim-Chare Assembly Constituency,
  11. Polling Station No. 19 – GHS Building, Pungro Town ‘B’ under 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency and
  12. Polling Station No. 25 – GPS Building, Khongka under 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency.

Counting will be conducted on March 3 at 17 centers across Nagaland.
