Nearly 45,000 personnel, both Central and State, will be utilized during Nagaland Polls

KOHIMA, Feb 11 (NEPS): Over 28, 100 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel will man 2194 Polling Stations in the forthcoming Assembly State elections in Nagaland. Over and above this, 58 companies of State Armed Police and District Executive Force numbering 5698 will be deployed. So a total of nearly 45,000 personnel, both Central and State, are likely to be utilized for the State election purpose this time.

State Police forces will look into security while Assam Rifles will provide environmental security during the polls.

A total of 281 companies of CAPF will be utilized for the State Polls. Out of these, 77 companies have arrived in the State and they have already been distributed in all the districts. The remaining companies will be arriving in the State after completion of Polls n Tripura on 18 February 2018.

Apart from manning the Polling Stations during Polls, some of the CAPF personnel will also be used at static police check posts for checking of cash, arms, liquors and other illegal items.
