ZUNHEBOTO, Aug 17: A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was held at Indoor Stadium, Satakha on Thursday.
Speaking at the function ADC, Satakha and Coordinator SVEEP, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa gave a briefing on SVEEP campaign wherein she said that Clean Election can become a reality only if the electorates are well informed and aware of the electoral process. Exhorting the gathering, ADC encouraged every citizen especially the younger generation to take part in the electorate process to bring a change in the society. Lithrongla also encouraged the differently abled to take part and play an active role as the Constitution does not bar any citizen from voting on the ground of physical disability.
EAC, Satakha, Nockpai Konyak in his brief speech thanked all the HODs, GBs, Church Leaders, SRSU, STYO and students for their participation. Earlier, Kavito spoke on ‘Enrolment and Election Process’, while Aholi spoke on ‘Ethical and Informed Voting’. The program was organized by Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer.
