Imtikumzuk inaugurates Mokokchung Press Club Chamber

MOKOKCHUNG, Jul 6: A two room chamber of Mokokchung Press club was inaugurated on 6th July 2017 by Parliamentary Secretary, IPR, Nagaland, Imtikumzuk, at DPRO Office building, Mokokchung.

Inaugurating the chamber, the parliamentary Secretary said it was a significant day for the press club of Mokokchung to finally have a place where people can put their intellect through interactions and to disseminate the outcome thereby educating the people and build the society. Maintaining Mokokchung Press Club as second to none, Imtikumzuk asked the members of the club to continue contributing actively by putting more effort in highlighting Mokokchung and its people apart from reporting everyday happenings. He added that media is a tool which has the power to lead our society closer to the rest of the world.


Director, IPR Nagaland, Limawati, in his speech, said, the IPR department is contributing a little with great expectation of enlightening and informing the people, keeping in mind the important roles played by the press clubs in the state. He urged members to keep up the good reputation of Mokokchung press club, maintaining that an empowered press helps the people.


ADC, Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS, in his speech thanked the department of IPR for their generous contribution towards the Press Club of Mokokchung. He maintained that the Mokochung press club is doing a tremendous job at the professional front. He asked the press club Mokokchung to carry on their good works with zeal and asked them to educate the people to use the media (especially social media) judiciously so that every citizen takes part in shaping the society.

President, Press Club, Mokokchung, Limalenden mentioned that the long felt need of Mokokchung press club has been met. He thanked the Parliamentary Secretary and all the officers of IPR Department for their contribution and support to the Press Club, Mokokchung. He assured to disseminate information effectively and serve the people by making optimum use of the facility.

The programme was chaired by DPRO, Mokokchung, Chuba Walling. Representatives from Ao Senden, NPF party and DPRO staff attended the programme.
