MOKOKCHUNG, May 30: Organized by Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) in Association with National Commission for Women, New Delhi, a programme on Legal Awareness on Human Trafficking was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung on Tuesday.
Chairperson, NSCW, Dr. Temsula Ao during the introductory speech said Human Trafficking is a well organized Criminal system which is one of the fastest growing businesses in the world which also come in many guises. Dr. Temsula said, human trafficking is happening in a different form and have a different shape in Nagaland. Therefore we cannot tackle it unless we understand.
She said the objective of the awareness programme which is being held in all the districts and sub-division is to educate people by spreading awareness so that we do not become a victim.
Short speeches were delivered by Additional SP Mokokchung, Yarenthung and State Trainer & Legal Aid Council, NSLSA Mrs. Esther K. Aye. Welcome address was delivered by president, Watsu Mungdang while Member, NSCW, Asangla Cholong chaired the programme.
The programme was attended by officials from Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang, Ward Authority and Watsu Unit of all the 18 wards in Mokokchung.
