KOHIMA, Mar 17 (NEPS): The University Grants Commission (UGC) in its meeting held on 22nd February, 2017 has decided to request all the Universities to upload data regarding Ph.D on their website on the parameters as per the proforma.
The UGC has directed the esteemed universities to undertake this exercise within two months and send a link to UGC in the email ID email@example.com , along with the scanned copy of the data duly verified by the Dean (Academic Affairs) to UGC. Prof. Jaspal S. Sandhu, Secretary UGC, through notification D.O. No. F. 1-2/ 2009 (EC/ PS) (Vol. II) dated 9th March, 2017 notified the desire of the UGC to maintain a list of defaulting universities on its website on failure to undertake the exercise.
The template of the proforma for uploading data includes :- faculty, department, name of the supervisor, name of the Ph.D. scholar with Aadhar number/photo ID, mode of Ph.D (full time/part time), registration number, date of registration, research topic, likely date of completion of Ph.D., availing fellowship (yes/ no), funding agency of fellowship. The data should be updated as when the new enrolment takes place.
