KOHIMA, Mar 17 (NEPS): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President K Therie warned the people of Nagaland that if they allowed the present DAN Government for the next five years, the Churches in Nagaland would be emptied and the Christians would be nowhere. He alleged the ruling NPF for comforting the BJP whose ideology was not only against the Christians but also to abolish all the Special Provisions given to the States of Nagaland and Jammu & Kashmir.
Talking at the Office Bearers Introductory Program of the new team of the Nagaland Pradesh Youth Committee (NPYC) held here at the Conference Hall of the Congress Bhavan today, the Congress President said the ideology of the present Government in Nagaland was to loot and threat to the Naga people. In the last almost 15 years, they had seen that Nagaland was under a complete suppression. “Nagaland people have no voice and they have been made robots by unknown people,” he said. “Nagas of Nagaland have not been ruling for the last almost fifteen years.”
Launching a scathing attack on the NPF-led DAN Government in Nagaland, Therie said BJP, which is one of the main allies of DAN, was airing for quite some time to abolish Special Provisions given in the form of Article 370 to Jammu & Kashmir and Article 371A to Nagaland. They wanted to bring a Uniform Civil Code which would be dangerous for a country like theirs, he warned.
NPCC Working President, Ayangba Aonok and General Secretary, Dokiu Kecham, who is in-charge of Congress Youth and NSUI, also spoke on the occasion which was chaired by NPCC Secretary in-charge of Congress Youth & NSUI, Myinthungo Mozhui.
Earlier, President NPYC Vilhousielie Kengruse, spoke about their roles and assured the party that they would highlight the party ideologies. He said their Youth Congress Team would be touring the State soon to interact with the youth and cross section of people to propagate the party’s ideologies. He was confident that their party would shine and become stronger if the youth work hard for the larger interest of the Naga people.
