KISAMA, Dec 10: Chief Minister, T.R. Zeliang thanked all the participants and the Government departments for their contributions to the success of this year’s Hornbill festival.  He also thanked the various cultural troupes from the state as well as from outside the state. Cultural performances always occupy the central stage and provides the main attraction during our Hornbill festival, Zeliang said.

 He expressed his gratitude to the tourists and other visitors. Zeliang said the Kohima Municipal Council and the Youth Action for Rural Development had done a wonderful job for regularly collecting the wastes from Kisama and Kohima Night Bazaars.  He thanked the visitors and the public for their cooperation in keeping the venue of the festival clean and plastic free. He said, “we should try to follow up this cleanliness drive in all our town and market places so that cleanliness becomes our habit”.

Zeliang congratulate the Expert Group and the Core Team for their commendable efforts in bringing out the Vision 2030 document in a record time of two months. Through this vision document, we are charting out the broad contours of our visions and dreams for the future of the state for the next 15 years or so. It outlines our visions on creating employment opportunities for our youth, on women empowerment, on improving the income and standard of living of the people in general, on improving connectivity within the state, and with the neighbouring countries etc. T.R Zeliang maintained

Zeliang also seeked the cooperation of the Governor and also the people of Nagaland in taking forward and in implementing the Nagaland Vision 2030. It is only with the active involvement and cooperation of every citizen that these visions can be converted into a reality, he added.

Miss Nagaland 2016, Vilokali Zhimomi lit the bonfire followed by Unity Dance by various cultural troupes which was also joined by spectators. As part of the closing ceremony, a Christmas concert titled “Joy to the World” was also held with performances from Mengu Suokhrie, Wangyat Wangsie, the Bangalore Conservatory (Handball Ensemble) and Hopong Naga.
