PHEK, Sept 9: The monthly meeting of Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on 8th September 2016 in the DPDB conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Phek, Murohu Chotso.
The DC welcomed new members Levi Bennet, DPO, Land Resource and Imsunaro, District Development Manager, NABARD, Phek. He requested all the Heads of Offices to attend the public reception along with subordinate staff during the Governor’s visit to the district at Town Hall on 12th September 2016. He has also informed the members that some departments have been listed to interact with the Governor for which he directed them to be prepared.
The Board reviewed the minutes of the last DPDB meeting. As entrusted by the Board, Dr.Denis Hangsing, Medical Superintendent, Phek presented his departmental activities where he highlighted on Respiratory Tract Infection in the young children and viral and other infectious diseases which are common diseases during the current season. He also said that lifestyle related diseases such as hypertension, diabetics etc are on the rise. During the year 2015-16, District Hospital Phek registered 8683 OPD patients, 776 indoor patients, 1475 emergency patients and conducted 29 major operations and 182 minor operations, he added.
The Board expressed concern over non availability of Surgeon in the District Hospital Phek for many years. Upon learning that one post of Orthopedic Surgeon from District Hospital is attached to District Hospital, Dimapur, the Board resolved to write to the government to detach the officer concerned to be reposted to the District Hospital, Phek.
Kedutsho Khape, IA, DPRO’s office Phek presented the departmental activities of the IPR department where he highlighted that the department collects and disseminates news to the public with special focus on the developmental activities of the Government. The department is also the nodal department for all government advertisement, he said.
The Board agreed to conduct Inter Departmental Badminton Tournament during the current year and also agreed to recommend the society registration of Hill Innovation Lead Organisation (HILO), Pfutsero.
In the next DPDB meeting, NABARD and NYK, Phek will present their departmental activities.
