KOHIMA, Aug 30 (NEPS): The Kohima District Sports Council (KDSC) in a press release has informed that for effective management of (Khuochiezie) Local Ground keeping in the priority interest of games and sports activities in the district, a meeting was held recently in the office chamber of Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor IAS who is also the Chairman of KDSC.
DC Kohima and Chairman KDSC stated that in order to keep the continuity of sporting activities and to avoid last minute clash of programmes, the Council has decided to reserve the ground to Association/ Organisations/Clubs that organizes tournament regularly/yearly w.e.f 2017 as follows: 1st to 15th January – KVYO (every alternate year); 5th to 20th September – Lt. Capt. Neikezhakuo Memorial Trophy; 1st to 20th October – NSF’s Martyrs Trophy; 23rd to 29th October – 3E, Wrestle Mania; 1st to 20th November – Classic Club and 22nd to 26th November – KDVA.
However, the Council further stated that allotment and earmarking shall be withdrawn for Association/s falling to organize tournament regularly (for two consecutive years). The earmarking and allotment of the ground is subject to revision and cancellation if any official programme arises. The local ground being constructed mainly for sporting activities, usage of ground will be given priority to sporting activities and Baazar/mela etc. activities will not be allowed w.e.f. 2017.
The release further stated that all the District Level Sports Associations of various disciplines have to be registered with the Kohima District Sports Council by paying a onetime registration fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) only. Application for ground allotment, financial assistance etc will be considered for only registered Associations/Organisations/Clubs.
