Special Health Camp held at High School Ward

KOHIMA, Aug 3: In continuation of its human endeavour and to bring about health awareness to the people, the Kohima DPDB High School Ward Adoption Committee under 10th Northern Angami A/C organized a special Health Camp in collaboration with NHAK at Multipurpose Hall, RGHSS Kohima on 3rd August 2016.

The Health Camp was graced by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor IAS as the chief guest. In his speech, Rovilatuo stated that any issues relating to health requires priority attention as ‘health is wealth’. He said that awareness on healthcare was important in the present context as countless numbers of sickness and new diseases have been increasingly affecting all social economy life including health condition due to significant changes in ecological status year by year. Stating that the life situation of our forefathers remain healthier, stronger and live longer probably because of their lifestyle depending on their own food products, water from original sources, Rovilatuo felt that such lifestyle has been diminishing and more depend on market food products have increased where health conditions have been more complicated in the present context.

He therefore reminded the gathering to give more importance on health issues by taking remedial steps and to generate a sense of awareness in order to maintain better health, sanitation, environment in the colony as well as the society in general. He expressed his optimism that such endeavour would go a long way to cater the needs of the needy people and requested all the needy people of the colony to avail the opportunity free of cost.

The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the High School Ward Adoption Committee for organizing such health camp for the colony people and various ward leaders for coming forward to ensure the success of the camp.

The High School Ward Adoption Committee Convenor, Kethosituo Sekhose, SDO (Sadar) earlier gave a brief introduction on the system of the Ward Adoption Committee under DPDB Kohima. He said that the aims and objectives of the health camp was to ensure that the departments and the district administration reaches out to all needy people. He also informed that the health camp was sponsored by Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports and Lotteries, Khriehu Liezietsu where doctors and nurses from NHAK contributed their free services. He further encouraged all the denizens and students of RGHSS to avail the service opportunity and ensure that they get a healthy life.


A special team of Specialist Doctors and Nurses from NHAK lead by Dr. Abei K. Angami (HOD) including Dr. Vanvlalrauti (Medicine Specialist), Dr. Tewekhro, Dr. Neiphrezo, Dr. Sedengulie (HOD), Dr. Bernard Amer, Dr. Imotemsu, Dr. Rüütuoü (HOD), Dr. Kedozeto Punyu (HOD) and Dr. Zhimatho conducted free consultation and check-ups in Gynaecology, ENT, Medicine, Surgery, Paediatric to all the visitors who attended the camp. The visitors were also offered free medicine during the camp

The team leader from NHAK, Dr. Abei K. Angami (HOD) Gynaecology also spoke on the occasion while Vice Chairman, High School Panchayat (HSP), Pudusül Luho invoked God’s blessing and Chairman, HSP, Zasilhulie Zumvü gave the vote of thanks. More than 600 patients suffering from various diseases benefited during the camp.
