KOHIMA, Jul 29: The closing ceremony of the 6th ENSF Fiesta Sports was held on 28th July 2016 at local ground Mon under the theme ‘battle for peace’ with Parliamentary Secretary for Land Resource & Excise, B.S. Nganlang as the chief guest.
The chief guest emphasized on sacrifice, commitment and urged the student communities to come out of the comfort zone. He called upon the ENSF leaders to work for peace. He also requested the gathering to adopt the policy of “forgive and forget” to have peace and tranquility in the society. He also called upon the players to play in the true spirit of sportsmanship and to promote peace through sports.
In the men’s volley ball, Phom Students Conference emerged the winner while United Sangtam Students Conference was declared the runner up. In women’s volley ball, Konyak Student’s Union was the winner while Phom Students Conference as the runner up. In football, Konyak Student’s Union emerged the winner while Conference of Chang Student’s Union as runner up.
An exhibition match was played between the Fiesta host Konyak Students’ Union and ENSF officials where the host team emerged the winner. The programme was chaired by Loungai Wangnao, President Konyak Student’s Union with special songs presented by the USSC and special display by KSU (Konyak).
