KOHIMA, Jun 20 (NEPS): Minister for National Highways, Mechanical Engineering and Election, Nuklutoshi, has expressed shock at the sudden demise of Rev Lano Longchar at Mokokchung. He was 81.
In a condolence message today, the Minister said Rev Lano Longchar was associated with various Evangelical Institutions during his lifetime and he traveled to far-flung areas with the message of the gospel, he stated.
Nuklutoshi also said Rev Lano Longchar was a man of God. He was not only known in Nagaland but also abroad for his dedicated and selfless missionary works to the people and also in providing leadership in various ways in church and society.
Rev Lano Longchar was loved by the people and whoever met him would always remember him as a “man of God.” His was known for his contributions to nurturing grassroots ecumenism, spiritual values, mission, and evangelism.
In his untimely demise, the Nagas had lost a “towering spiritual leader” and the void created by his death would be difficult to fill, Nuklutoshi said.
Conveying his condolences to the bereaved family members of Rev Lano Longchar, the Minister said, “No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord.” May his soul rest in peace, he prayed.
