State Chief Electoral Officer visits Wokha

WOKHA, Jun 15: Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Sanjay Kumar visited Wokha on Wednesday and held a meeting with District Administration, District HoDs, Supervisors, BLOs, and NGOs, at DC’s conference hall, Wokha.

The CEO while addressing the officials warned that omission and commission by any official dealing with election-related work will result to severe punishment and urged all to work with sincerity as per the guidelines of the election commission. He appealed to district level officers to help identify double entries and ensure that electors are enrolled/registered in one area only in order to maintain a clean E/roll. He also urged all Supervisors and BLOs to attend meetings and training as and when called. The CEO also pointed out that errors and abnormalities have been detected in some polling stations under Wokha District which needs to be verified, therefore, he urged all district officials to take serious note of this while taking up the exercise. More effort needs to be put in order to speed up the work added the CEO.

He appealed the Administrative Officers and NGOs to sensitize the public about the importance of having AADHAR Card and encourage those who have missed out to avail it. The CEO congratulated the DEO Wokha for taking up an ambitious SVEEP action plan.

ADC, Wokha, Thavaseelan (IAS) and AEO, Wokha Toshimongba gave power point 
presentations on NERP and SVEEP exercise and activities undertaken in the district.  The CEO was accompanied by Joint CEO Moa Aier, Dy. CEO and Asstt. CEO Awa Lorin. The meeting was chaired by DC & DEO Wokha, Wezope Kenye while vote of thanks was delivered by SDO (C) Wokha, Mhomo Tungoe.
