KOHIMA, Apr 1: The Election Commission of India has recently launched the National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) programme 2016 on 1st March 2016 with the main objective being, to improve the health of the Electoral Rolls (ER). The NERP 2016 will also include enrolment of all eligible citizens and removal of repeated and multiple entries; entries of dead, shifted & absent voters, correction of errors in EPICs and removal of other data errors. During this drive, repeated images will also be corrected, missing photographs will be collected; poor quality of images will be replaced by good quality photographs. This intensive drive is to be completed on or before 31st August 2016.
In this regards, a meeting is convened on 4th April 2016 (Monday) at Hotel Japfu at 11 AM to discuss on issues pertaining to the National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) 2016 programme and also the Systematic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme with the following namely: The Commissioner & Secretary, Forest; The Principal Chief Conservator of Forest; The Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare; The Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland; The Commissioner & Secretary, Social Welfare; The Director, Social Welfare, Nagaland; The Commissioner & Secretary, Youth Resources & Sports; The Director, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland; The General Secretary, Red Cross Society, Nagaland and The Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides.
Another meeting has been convened on 4th April, 2016 (Monday) at Hotel Japfu at 1:00 P.M to discuss on issues pertaining to the National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) 2016 programme and also the Systematic Voters' Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program with the following namely:- President, Angami Public Organization; President, Sumi Hoho; President, Ao Senden; President, Kyong Hoho; President, Chakhesang Public Organization; President, Pochury Hoho; President, Rengma Hoho; President, Konyak Union; President, Phom Peoples' Council; President, United Sangtam Likhum Bumji; President, Yimchungru Tribal Council; President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council; President, Zeliangrong Baudi; President, Chang Khulie Setshang; President, Kuki Inpi and President, Kachari Tribal Council.
All the members have been requested to cooperate and attend the meeting positively along with the highlights on the action taken, if any, since the last meeting and Action Plan for the current drive. The organizations can be represented by one or two officials.
