KOHIMA, Mar 14: The Nagaland Board of School Education in collaboration with the Trinity College, London had conducted the Third Annual Teachers Training Program in English communication skills from 11th – 12th March 2016 at NBSE office conference hall, Kohima with Dr. John Bentley (Trinity Academic Support Specialist, India and Soma Podder (Trinity faculty, India) as the resource persons. There were 32 participants from 22 institutions affiliated for this program.
The training focused on orienting teachers to prepare students for Trinity College’s Graded Exam in Spoken English (GESE) as well as on classroom management and ways to integrate communication skills into their classrooms.
The GESE exams, which are highly sought-after qualification with international validity, being accepted for entry into university throughout Europe and the US, has a unique form of assessments, focusing on 1-1 interactions between the examiner and the examinee with graded approach to language acquisition.
In the last two years, students of Nagaland who took this exam have a record 100% pass percentage.
