WOKHA, Mar 9: A medical camp was organized for the Ex-servicemen of Wokha district at Ganga, near Wokha Town on 9th March 2016. The camp was organized to commemorate the Raising of Assam Rifles on 24th March 1835 and was inaugurated by Col Litton Dhar, Commandant 28 Assam Rifles. The event was supported by the district administration where all necessary assistance was provided by DC Wokha, Robin Lotha, SP Wokha, Chumrenthun Khuvung, Addl SP Wokha, Tokhovi Achumi, SDO Thavaseelan K and Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Entithung Lotha.

The ESMs appreciated the Civil administration, the local medical authorities, State law and order agencies and the Assam Rifles for coming together for a common and noble cause to recognize the service provided by the ex-servicemen in guarding the nation.

28 Assam Rifles, under the aegis of 5 Sector Assam Rifles, not only provided medical assistance to the Ex-servicemen but also organized a “Grievances Cell” to address their problems. CSD facilities, free refreshment, and vehicle for conveyance of old and the aged were provided from Wokha Town to the Camp.
