Yitachu said education is to give positive transformation

MOKOKCHUNG, Nov 17: Minister School Education and SCERT Nagaland, Yitachu graced the 22nd presentation ceremony of Mayangnokcha Awards for Academic Excellence as the chief guest at Town hall, Mokokchung on 17th November 2015.

The Chief Guest in his address stressed on real education, which is not about getting jobs but about living life to the fullest adding that education is a continuous process which brings about positive transformation in our lives. He pointed out that formal education came to us with the advent of Christianity and it therefore very much appropriate that our educational function should be based on the principles of Christianity which teaches us about love and concern which in turn brings about unity. He also thanked MAT for their concern and effort to bring about transformation in our society through educational excellence.

Master of Ceremony was Dr. Lanurenla, invocation was pronounced by Dr. Mar Pongener, Dean of PG Studies CTC, theme song “The Educationist” was presented by MGHSS Choir, keynote address was delivered by the President Mayangnokcha Award Trust (MAT), Akok Walling, “One moment in time” was presented by Chubamanen Longkumer, short speech was delivered by former recipient of Mayangnokcha Award for Academic Excellence (1997) Teisovi Gerard.
