Nukhu inaugurates new building of Phek Govt College

PHEK, Oct 14: The new building of Phek Government College was inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary for Higher & Technical Education, Deo Nukhu on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Director, Higher Education.

Speaking on the occasion, Deo Nukhu said that a lot of improvement and development has been taking place in all over the State in the education sector for which he called upon the students to take advantage of the privileges by studying in our own State. He stressed the importance of the library in our own academic campus and the need to inculcate the habit of library use. He also called upon students to be serious in their studies so that our future is secure and bright. He said that if we work hard our future will shine and encouraged the students to give more efforts in the journey of learning. The need of the hour is quality education, he said and asked the students to be equipped to face the competitive world in all aspects as healthy competition is a must.

Deo Nukhu also mentioned the importance of physical fitness. While wishing the teaching faculties and students for success in all future endeavors, he stated that nothing is impossible if we work hard because it is the only way for success.


Phek Deputy Commissioner, Muroho Chotso, who is also the Advisory Board Chairman of Phek Government College, also delivered the welcome address where he appreciated the teaching faculties and students of the college and also called upon public leaders and the people have more concern for the college.


The programme was chaired by Dr.Katoni Jakhalu, Principal. Special number and a short skit were presented by the BA 1st semester and college choir respectively, a vote of thanks was given by Vice Principal, Besengulie Venuh. The function was attended by ex-minister, Vejoi Vero, former Phek Town Council chairperson, PAPO president Vezhehu Vero and his colleagues, office bearers from Chakhesang Mothers Association, Phek Area Mothers Association and a host of government officials.
