Awareness on Wildlife & Forest conservation held at Meluri,  Phek

PHEK, Sept 30: An awareness programme on Wild Life & Amur Falcon Protection was organized by Phek Forest Division in Meluri on 29th September 2015. DFO Phek, Rongsenlemla Imchen IFS highlighted the importance of Wild Life & Amur Falcon Protection and its legal implications. She called upon all sections of the stake holders to put concretive effort towards protecting the forests sustainably in relation to livelihood security.

ADC Meluri, John Tsalise Sangtam appreciated the Department for its role in sensitizing the public. He stressed on the relative effects of rainfall to climate change and directed the local functionaries to firmly imposed Village Forest Resolution practically.

Penthu Pochury, President Pochury Hoho assured that the Hoho will cooperate with the Department to ensure strict on field implementation of Hoho Resolution to protect the forests. Ranger Meluri, S. Katiry sought collaborative effort to protect wild life & forests. The programme was attended by Joshury Phokhungri Beat Officer, District Administration, Police, Pochury Hoho, Pochury Mothers Association, Village Council Members and local functionaries of all 30 villages, Phochury GB Union, Dobhashis, Students Union & NGOs.
