PANTEANG LAMENTS POOR PERFORMANCE OF GOVT. SCHOOLS

MON, June 20: Lamenting the poor performance of Government Schools in the State, Parliamentary Secretary for Civil Defense & Home Guards and Sericulture, E.E. Pangteang called upon the government teachers to be sincere in their profession so that the Schools upgraded today is not degraded tomorrow due to poor performance in the HSLC Exam. The Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the Government High School who also laid the foundation stone of Police Station at Angjangyang on 19th of June 2015.

The Minister said that quality education is deprived to the students at the primary level due to insincerity of the local teachers who are posted in their respective villages. Such teachers have no expectation to mold and shape their students to become responsible citizen of the society, he said. The Minister said that without quality education there is no room for a student to get employed in any agency in the fast and advanced competitive world of today. He also informed that inspection would be conducted at GHS Mopong and Angjangyang along with interaction with teachers and staffs.


Emphasizing on quality construction of Government works, Pangteang urged the local contractors to adopt quality measures for quality devolvement and at the same time called upon the public to maintain government property. He was also optimistic that laying the foundation of Police station at Angjangyang would benefit the people of the area to maintain law and order situation and minimize unlawful activities.

Advisor DUDA and Chairman DPDB, Mon N. Thongwang Konyak in his short speech called upon the public to maintain peace and unity to ensure that peace and development prevail in the region. He said that the people should acknowledge the development taking place in their area and extend full cooperation and support to the Government and their elected leaders. Informing that development is initiated in viable areas where the land is free from claim of ownership, he said landownership should not be a hindrance for development of the Sub-division. He also called upon the people to have ownership of the Government’s properties for growth and progress.

Speaking on behalf of Deputy Commissioner, Mon the ADC Aboi in his short speech congratulated the people of Angjangyang for bringing development to their door step. He asserted that without the correct intend of the elected leaders nothing can be achieved and urged the people to realize the efforts and the concern of the leaders for development. He also called upon the people to extend full cooperation to the Government and the security forces who are constantly providing development and security for the safety of the public.

Superintendent of Police, Yangba Konyak said that the primary objective of the Police is to maintain law and order situation and to book the culprits as per the provision of the law. He appealed to the public to become law abiding citizen before the Police Station Angjangyang is fully inaugurated and made functional. He also informed the public to desist from using paramilitary uniforms in view of the prevailing situations.

SDEO (Education) Mon and Ex-Minister, Nyamnyei Konyak also spoke on the occasion. The programme was attended by government officers, NGOs led by the President Konyak Union, Public leaders, Party leaders, DBs & GBs, Village functionaries and general public of Angjangyang sub-division.

The programme was chaired by SDO (Civil) Angjangyang, Chubatemjen while invocation and welcome address was proposed by Pastor Nokyen ABC and Mr. H. Hanme, V/Chairman Adhov Town Committee, Angjangyang respectively.
