KOHIMA, May 19: The Home Department, Political ‘B’ Branch in a circular stated that as on 31st March, 2015 a total of over 3000 (three thousand) Nos of Arms License applications had accumulated in the Home Department pending to be disposed.
The Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs had directed to implement National Database of Arms Licenses (NDAL) in which each arms license shall have an electronically generated Unique Identity Number (UID). All States shall complete the implementation by 15th October, 2015 after which any arm license without UID number shall become invalid. All the Deputy Commissioners in the State are hard pressed to implement this project.
In view of the above, all Deputy Commissioners are directed not to accept fresh arms license applications. Issuing of arms license application forms should also be stopped for the time being to facilitate completion of digitalization of arms licenses. All Deputy Commissioners are requested to strictly adhere to this circular till further order
